Srinagar, February 4 (KNO) : Expressing his anguish and concern over the attack on Kashmiri students in Haryana University, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, on Sunday appealed to the heads of Islamic organizations and prosperous and affluent people of the state to establish new universities and other technical institutions in the state of Jammu and Kashmir to safeguard the lives and carrier of our bellowed students, who often go outside state for their studies, but are being maimed, arrested, killed and even humiliated there. He said that India is no longer a safe place for Kashmiris and they are everywhere seen in distrust and their lives and honour are in great danger there. The claims of big democracy and secularism by New Delhi are proving to be hollow slogans,” Geelani said in a statement today. “Besides many students from India who are undergoing many courses in educational institutions of Kashmir, there are lakh of labourers from outside J&K who come to Kashmir for work, but despite the difference in religion and ideology, Kashmiris treat them as their brothers here,” Geelani said. Flaying the state administration, Geelani said, “Though they are making huge claims with regard to the safety of Kashmiris outside state, but they fail to implement these claims.”(KNO)
